YouTube videos suggest Redlynx's next XBLA game is already out in the wild

Trials Evolution ‘leaked online’

A pirated version of Redlynx’s successor to Trials HD has leaked onto file-sharing websites, reports suggest.

The long-awaited Trials Evolution is said to have appeared on multiple file-sharing websites over the weekend.

Some of those who downloaded the game have apparently posted gameplay videos on YouTube, according to Eurogamer.

Present availability of the download file, and how it was leaked, is unknown. Trials Evolution is due for an Xbox Live Arcade release at some stage this year.

In 2009, Redlynx CEO Tero Virtalathe made an extraordinary confession that the studio deliberately leaked one of its games to various torrent sites.

Virtala claimed that studios can benefit from piracy if it is used as a marketing tool.

"Piracy is here, so how can we take advantage of that,” Virtala said at the 2009 Develop in Liverpool conference.

“What we did actually, on day one, we put [the PC edition of Trials] immediately on all the torrent networks ourselves."

Late last year Redlynx was purchased by Ubisoft.
