Twitter the E3 hype machine of choice

Few things get the hype juices flowing as readily as E3, but this year has seen many of gaming’s big names turn to communications revolution Twitter to crank up the excitement ahead of their big reveals.

For instance, in the last few hours alone we’ve had the likes of:

Sony rep Jake Osuwah
Pre-E3 announcements or not! There’s still lots of shockers planned for you guys @ E3, stay tuned…”

Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley
Gloomy day in LA, but it’s off to the Xbox press briefing I go. Modern Warfare 2 fans won’t want to miss it.”

And you might want to check out this TwitPic courtesy of Ruffian Games. What could they be excited about, you wonder? MCV thinks that maybe a Crackdown 2 announcement could be on the way this evening…

Those of you already riding the crest of the Twitter wave may well want to follow MCV’s online news editor @BenParfitt, editor-in-chief @Michael_French and, of course, the official Intent Twitter feeds for @MCVMagazine and @CasualGamingBiz.
