Ubisoft confirms Uplay Online Pass

Yet another publisher has announced plans to introduce and EA Online Pass type system into its future releases.

Following rumours last week, Ubisoft has now confirmed that September release Driver: San Francisco will be the first game to include what is to be called the Uplay Online Pass.

As with other comparable systems, all games using the Uplay Online Pass will include a one-use code in the box. This can be redeemed in-game to unlock various crucial gameplay components – typically online gameplay or additional in-game content.

Those who buy the game second hand either have to make do without the missing features or else stump up a sum to buy a new Online Pass.

The UK price for the Uplay Online Pass has not yet been announced, though it will cost $9.99 in the US.
