Ubisoft eyes up Kinect IP conversions

Publisher Ubisoft has said that it is considering Kinect adaptations for all of the brands in its popular stable of IP.

The company has already enjoyed big success with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 motion camera, claiming third party market leadership on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to launch titles such as Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Fighter’s Uncaged and Motion Sports.

And while these three new IPs have enjoyed varying success, the publisher has plans to bring some of its more established brands to the platform.

We will be bringing some of the industry’s most innovative offerings to Kinect soon,” says chief marketing and sales officer Geoffroy Sardin told MCV.

I think we can propose Kinect versions of all the brands that we’ve got, but it is down to the production team. I can’t announce anything, but we will have something for everyone, that I can assure you.”

Two further Kinect games have already been announced by the firm – Michael Jackson: The Experience and spiritual Rez successor Child of Eden.
