UK trade body on board as Gold Partner for anticipated awards ceremony

UKIE joins forces with 2012 Develop Awards

UK games industry trade body has put its weight behind the Develop Industry Excellence Awards as a Gold Partner.

The only peer-voted awards for the UK and European games industry, the Develop Awards are this year taking place on July 11th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton.

"We are really happy to be sponsoring this year’s Develop Awards," said UKIE CEO Jo Twist. "These are one of my favourite awards in the games industry calendar because it really celebrates the huge creative diversity and originality in game development that our industry has to offer.

"This year’s shortlist is so exciting and I can’t wait to see who wins from the mix of the best, most imaginative and innovate people in today’s creative digital media industries"

UKIE’s ‘vision’ is to make the UK the best place to develop and publish games and interactive entertainment. The group strives to create a world class business environment for UK developers, lobbies government and liaises with the media, as well as filling numerous other functions.

The finalists for the Develop Awards were confirmed last month.
