Job listing suggests online focus for new branch

Unity opening Berlin studio

Popular games engine firm Unity is opening a new studio in Berlin.

News of the move was confirmed by Unity Berlin development lead Mark Val on Linkedin, who joins the company from Ubisoft where he served as online and IT architect.

The middleware outfit, which has just signed a landmark deal with Nintendo to bring its development platform to the Wii U, is currently in the process of staffing up the new branch.

A job listing on its official website suggests the focus on the new office will be online, with new recruits encouraged to “share solutions and online philosophies”.

The studio is also currently looking to hire creative online engineers, further insinuating a focus on the web.

Develop has reached out to Unity for more information on the move, but it has declined to comment.
