Watch Dogs becomes Ubisoft’s biggest ever pre-ordered new IP

Ubisoft says that upcoming action title Watch Dogs is the most pre-ordered new IP in the company’s history and the most pre-ordered new IP in the industry this year.

It’s also the second highest pre-ordered Ubisoft game ever and has attracted more pre-orders than any other next-gen game at GameStop.

It may help, of course, that the game was announced way back in June 2012 and was at one stage due to launch alongside PS4 and Xbox One.

These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players’ anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs,” Ubisoft’s senior VP of sales and marketing Geoffroy Sardin said. The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.”

Watch Dogs will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on May 27th and on Wii U at some point in the future.
