Xbox One owners offered Sunset Overdrive for free for one day

Microsoft is offering one of its latest titles for free to celebrate Xbox One’s first birthday.

Major Nelson says that Xbox Live Gold subscribers will tomorrow be able to download Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive for free and play it for as long as they like until it is removed from the service at midnight.

It’s the full game, too, including all the online and co-op options.

Those who subsequently decide to buy the game will be able to resume from where they left off. Playing the demo will also unlock achievements.

Microsoft previously announced that it will be giving away an assortment of freebies to Xbox One customers in conjunction with the birthday celebrations.

UPDATE: The UK times for this promotiion are from 05:01 AM GMT on Saturday 22nd Nov to 05:01 AM GMT on Sunday 23rd Nov.
