XCOM: Enemy Within arrives on iOS, Android

XCOM: Enemy Within is now available as a standalone offering on mobile devices, publisher 2K and developer Firaxis have announced.

The game is ported from the standalone Commander Edition of the title – which also contains the base game XCOM: Enemy Unknown – released for PS3 and Xbox 360. Enemy Within originally debuted on Windows PC and Mac as an expansion tied to Enemy Unknown.

XCOM: Enemy Within is available for $12.99 and has replaced Enemy Unknown’s mobile edition on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

A word of warning: be sure to check your mobile device’s compatibility before purchase.

According to Joystiq, the game is compatible with iPad 3, iPad mini 2, iPhone 5 and up on iOS. It won’t work with earlier devices, though unfortunately can still be purchased. The multiplayer aspect of the game isn’t available on Amazon devices either.
