Zynga poaches RockYou GM as new VP of sales

The general manager of social games developer RockYou has quit the studio to join Zynga as VP of sales for North America.

Julie Shumaker, who only joined the studio in March last year, will now report to chief marketing and revenue officer Jeff Karp, who himself left EA last year to join the industry giant.

Shumaker has previously worked at companies such as EA as senior director of games advertising and Yahoo as sales manager.
