Zynga with Friends unveiled

Social games company Zynga has announced a new feature linking players from across its multiplatform empire on a single service.

Zynga with Friends is a social network for social games accessible through Zynga’s new standalone platform, iOS, Android, and Facebook.

The gaming website Zynga.com was the major focus of today’s "Zynga Unleashed" press conference, in which the social games publisher revealed the newest additions to games and services, including an API available to third-party developers.

Michael Bronstein, general manager for the social games company, said the purpose of Zynga with Friends was to provide a social, familiar, consistent experience to the user each time they play.

Linking with matchmaking feature zFriends, Zynga with Friends is part of what appears to be a deliberate move to market the company as a platform for social games, rather than a traditional developer.
