Quake Live lands on Steam

Bethesda’s free FPS Quake Live is now available on Steam.

The free-to-play title – based on Quake 3 – began life years ago as an in-browser shooter, with a standalone client replacing the browser version earlier this year before landing on PC’s largest distributor.

While Quake Live remains free-to-play, extended access and features to members with Premium and Pro accounts is now on offer as well. Pro subscribers may host matches for standard users on all seven Premium game modes.

Players who already have the game installed simply need to download and install a launcher to update the existing installation files.
