Red Dead Redemption sales spike following Xbox One backwards compatibility announcement

Sales of Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360 have shot up by nearly 6,000 per cent in just a day on Amazon.

This follows Rockstar’s announcement that the title will be coming to Xbox One this Friday (July, 8th) thanks to backwards compatibility.

Starting on Friday, every Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 owner will be able to play the game directly on their Xbox One, regardless of which version of the game they own (Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition). And for those who have yet to experience it, the game will be available to purchaseon Friday from the Games Store on Xbox One,” Rockstar stated.

The 2010 hit now ranks at No.19 in Amazon’s sales charts for video games, then it previously was at No.1,119.

Red Dead Redemption was released on Xbox One by accident earlier this year and was one of the most-requested game for backwards compatibility.

Xbox fans’ prayers have been answered then, but there’s still no news of a PS4 version though.
