Resident Evil HD re-release is the fastest selling game on PSN

The recent re-release of Capcom’s classic survival horror title Resident Evil has become the fastest-selling digital title in the PlayStation Store’s history

The game, which launched on January 20th, broke the record for day one sales of a digital title on PSN in Europe and North America.

Resident Evil HD was released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, as well as Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC – though sales data for those formats is yet to be released.

Unsurprisingly, Resident Evil also was the top selling PlayStation 4 PSN title for January, while it took second place in the PlayStation 3 rankings, being beaten by Minecraft.

It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have enjoyed this new release," said the title’s producer, Yoshiaki Hirabyashi.

"The team here at Capcom Japan have worked hard to bring the game to the latest generation of consoles and we are thrilled at this news on its performance.”
