Apple drops September hint for iPhone 5

You could run an entire website based on nothing more than Apple launch rumours, but here’s an interesting one that comes directly from Apple itself.

As part of its Q3 financial statement, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer said:

We have a future product transition that we’re not going to talk about today, and these things will impact our September quarter.

Of course, this could in theory be related to host of possible new launches. A new Mac, for instance, or updates to Apple TV.

But with the successor to the iPhone 4 missing its expected June launch date, many eyes are already looking to the autumn for the latest iPhone refresh.
