Assassins Creed 2 confirmed

As part of its

recent financial results

, Ubisoft revealed that it is unsurprisingly hard at work to a sequel to 2007 chart success Assassin’s Creed.

The publisher would not commit to a release window for the title, nor that it would arrive in the company’s 2010 fiscal year, but a 2009 Christmas release does seem like the most likely prospect.

In addition, there has been speculation that the game may be set several hundred years after the first title, which took place primarily in 1191. The French Revolution in the 1700s has been hinted at by leading industry analyst Michael Pachter.
