Black Ops Prestige Edition impresses

Activision has at last revealed what treats await those willing to pay out for the Collector’s Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops – and once again, it’s brilliant.

Included in the box will be a RC-XD Surveillance Vehicle that includes a fully-functional remote camera that transmits a colour TFT image, complete with audio, over a range of 200 feet.

The SKU will also include all the contents found in the Hardened Edition – that is, a Black ops custom medal, exclusive avatar outfit and four in-game co-op maps. It will be available exclusively through HMV, GAME and Gamestation.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a game-changing release and will be an absolutely huge event for us – without doubt the defining game of 2010,” HMV’s head of games Tim Ellis stated.

We’ve been gearing up for what will surely prove our biggest title of the year – both online at and in-store, and our teams are already on the case planning launch activity that will hopefully give fans of the franchise every chance to share in their passion for this iconic release.”

GAME Group MD Martyn Gibbs added: The COD phenomenon marches on and we know that fans will want to get their hands on this incredible edition. With one of the most anticipated titles of the year, we’re working hard to deliver a launch that will make us the place to come and celebrate this fantastic game. From the sneak previews we’ve been given, it’s going to be a must-have title and we can’t wait to see how our customers react to the game and this limited edition.”

Last year’s Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 included a fully-working set of night vision goggles. Which amused members of the MCV team in the Intent Media basement for ages.

No official RRP has been put on the SKU, but MCV understands that it will retail for around 149.99. The game will be released on November 9th.

UPDATE:GAME and HMV have gone live with pre-orders for the Prestige Edition, priced at 129.99.
