CEX denies insolvency claims

Computer Exchange has quashed fears that it is on the verge of financial problems, insisting that it has enjoyed a successful six months of growth.

Concerns over the chain’s future emerged last week after a winding-up order was posted online, and numerous customers complained that cheques from the firm had bounced.

Yet CEX’s brand and communications manager Jonathan Cronin has told MCV that, although there was a problem, the retailer is not struggling for survival.

There was a problem with customer cheques, but that’s been sorted now,” he said.
We’ve reimbursed everyone affected, and we’ll be sending them an extra voucher as an apology for the inconvenience.

As for the insolvency rumours, they’re not true at all. We’ve just opened multiple new stores and had our annual party, which isn’t the type of thing an insolvent company would do.”

Computer Exchange has recently moved offices, with improved warehouse and logistic facilities. It has also opened new stores in the likes of Wood Green, Croydon, Coventry, Huddersfield, Darlington and Leicester.
