Dirt 3 receives Online Pass

Codemasters’ upcoming Dirt 3 comes bundled with a code that lets users play online and unlock five new vehicles.

According to Eurogamer it is called the VIP pass and is only included in new retail copies, gamers that buy the game used will have to pay extra to go online.

It’s similar to EA’s Online Pass, which is used in games such as Tiger Woods and FIFA.

The move is designed to encourage gamers to pick up the title new rather than used. And will also help fund Codemasters’ plans to manage and look after the online mode post release.

The cars that come bundled with the set includes the McRae M4, Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 and Hummer H3.

Dirt 3 is due to arrive on Tuesday, May 24th. It is getting huge reviews across the board at the moment, with a 9 on Eurogamer and 94 from GamesMaster.
