Doctor Who heading to iPhone

UK developer Tag Games has landed a coup, signing a deal with BBC Worldwide to launch an official Doctor Who game for iPhone and iPad.

The game, which is expected to launch before Christmas, will allow fans to play as the Doctor and as his current assistant Amy Pond.

"Doctor Who is the UK’s number one science fiction property, and I think it is in the BBC’s top three for worldwide sales, so it is great to bring it to Dundee — especially in light of what happened at Realtime Worlds and the effect it had on Dundee," Tag’s Robert Henning tells The Courier.

It’s the latest sign of UK broadcasters putting more investment into apps. Tag has also worked with Channel 4 on the official app for Come Dine With Me.
