ERA names new Board

Best Buy’s James Cooke is the latest entertainment expert to join ERA’s Board.

The Entertainment Retailers Association named its six Board members at its AGM last week. GAME’s Alex Vines, Play.com’s David Rimmer, Tesco’s Rob Salter and Asda’s Andrew Powell are re-elected, while Cooke and E-Music’s Madeleine Milne are new members. Sainsbury’s Richard Crampton joins ERA’s executive board.

Meanwhile, chairman Paul Quirk, deputy chairman Ben Drury and treasurer Graham Lambdon were re-elected.

During the meeting, Paul Quirk defended the role of entertainment retail, whilst calling for more innovation.

He said: The public hasn’t fallen out of love with entertainment. Our suppliers are still coming up with great product. And British entertainment retailers, though we may have our challenges, are still the best in the world. I truly believe this and hope we can all work together to guarantee allour futures.”
