GAME PR boss departs

PR manager Neil Ashurst has departed GAME Group this week after three and a half years at the firm.

He will be joining PR agency Romley Davies, where he will head up the company’s newly-signed Blockbuster account. He will support the rental chain’s growing games offering, as well as its DVD and Blu-ray ventures.

Ashurst’s responsibilities will temporarily be taken over by the Group’s marketing director Anna-Marie Mason, who also takes his place on the MCV Retail Advisory Board.

Although I’m sad to be leaving GAME Group and the fantastic teams I work with, I’m excited about the new role with Romley Davies,” said Ashurst. There’s some great opportunities ahead and I really can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Mason added: We’ve been really lucky to have Neil for the last three and a half years.”

He’s not only helped us, but the whole industry by pushing the agenda of our publisher partners. We are looking for a replacement but he will be a tough act to follow."
