GAME sets international bid deadline

Potential suitors have until Friday to register their interest for the possible acquisition of GAME’s overseas business.

GAME confessed last week that it is undergoing a strategic review” of its non-UK operations as it continues to battle it current financial predicament.

Rothschild has been appointed to oversee the review. It is believed that GAME is looking to sell as much of its international operations as it is able.

GAME currently has some 663 non-UK stores spread across France, Spain, Australia, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. It has 610 UK outlets.

If it comes to fruition, the move would mirror the tactic employed by HMV last year when it sold off its Canadian operations, as well as book chain Waterstones.
