Game4u now taking PS4 preorders

Game4u has started taking preorders for the PlayStation 4; it is the first Indian retailer to do so.

Those interested in getting the next-gen console at launch can preorder it either online or at one of Game4u’s stores by paying a Rs 3,000 deposit. The balance will be payable on the console’s release.

The lack of PS4 preorders so far is probably down to the fact that Sony Computer Entertainment India is yet to officially announce if and when the PS4 will arrive in India.

India usually follows European release schedules, so we’d expect India to get the PS4 along with Europe later this year, but MCV did hear from a couple of sources at E3 that India may not get the PS4 this year after all.

Microsoft has already announced that the Xbox One will only release in India, along with several Asian countries, in late 2014, saying that the extra time would allow it to nail down various content deals in the region.

Game4u hasn’t listed an estimated release date for the PS4 either.
