Green Man Gaming announces boxed game expansion

Hang on – this isn’t how it’s supposed to work, is it?

In an age where many are happy to predict the death of the High Street, digital games retailer Green Man Gaming is going the other direction, having announced its expansion into the boxed games market.

The strategy is being headed by GMG’s director of trading and former HMV man Martin Baxter.

Beginning July 27th, GMG will run a number of big-name sales on new boxed product including Darksiders 2 and Sleeping Dogs for 19.99 on PC or 29.99 on consoles.

Other games expected to be discounted include Borderlands 2, Hitman: Absolution, Guild Wars II and Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Green Man Gaming’s rapid growth has been driven by our commitment to deliver a simple, seamless experience to core gamers – offering choice in the way they want those games,” MD Paul Sulyok stated.

As a UK company it was a natural choice to deliver the UK first, but we are by no means finished there!

With more than 1.4bn spent annually in the UK alone on boxed games product, we believe there’s room for an agile, ambitious E-commerce retailer like GMG to provide this service in the UK and beyond.”
