Halo Wars set for February

is reporting that Microsoft’s upcoming Halo-themed RTS Halo Wars will be released next February – and it adds that those willing to stump up the cash for the Limited Edition bundle will get early access to Halo 3’s Mythic map pack.

The Mythic map pack contains three maps entitled Assembly, Orbital and Sandbox. Also included in the Limited Edition bundle is a graphic novel, an exclusive in-game vehicle, six ‘leader cards’ and a material patch. The US price has been set at $79.99.

The move mirrors that seen with 2006 release Crackdown, where Microsoft granted purchasers exclusive access to the Halo 3 multiplayer beta.

No details about the European release or price have been announced as of yet.
