HMV handing out One Direction Miis

Retailer HMV has joined forces with X-Factor band One Direction for an iexclusive in-store give-away.

As of Monday August 22nd the first band member to be transformed into a Nintendo Mii – Liam – will be distributed as a QR code on the One Direction Facebook and Twitter streams.

Then from Friday August 26th the rest of the band will become available from HMV stores. The QR codes will be handed out on postcards available to every customer who buys a 3DS.

Existing 3DS owners will also be able to obtain the Miis.

"This is a really cute idea from Nintendo, which combined with the fact One Direction are becoming absolutely huge, makes me think we’re onto a real winner here,@ HMV’s head of games Tim Ellis stated.

This shows how you can engage more effectively with customers by adding value to a product just through being creative."
