HMV’s Hayes heads to Tesco

Tesco has hired another games retail veteran.

HMV’s games commercial manager Jonathan Hayes, has joined the grocer as buying manager. He will report to senior buying manager for games Sarah Kaye.

Hayes has worked for HMV for seven years. He joined in 2004 following a six-year stint at distributor EUK.

We’re sorry to see Jon move on as he’s been a very popular and respected member of the team,” commented HMV’s head of games Tim Ellis.

On behalf of HMV I’d like to thank him for his dedication and the valuable contribution that he’s made in taking our games offer forward, and to wish him well in the future.”

Hayes added: I have thoroughly enjoyed working for HMV over the last seven years. I’d like to thank Tim and the team for all their support. I am now looking forward to the challenge and opportunity of working at Tesco, further helping them to develop its games proposition.”
