John Lewis Christmas sales soar

John Lewis has revealed that its Christmas sales were up 12,7 per cent compared to the year before.

The retailer took home more than 500 million over Christmas, with sales driven by beauty, fashion and home products. The home and electrical department also saw sales increase be 11.4 per cent.

John Lewis’ technology department took a hit last year, with the firm revealing in its annual report in April that sales had fallen 13.9 per cent. However, the retailer pledged its commitment to the sector by investing 6 million in launching 30 new standalone home and electrical stores.

The company then told MCV in May that it was looking to ramp up its presence in the games market, which included stocking an exclusive range of accessories.
