MCV AWARDS 2010: HMV leads retail winners

HMV was the big retail winner at last night’s MCV Industry Excellence Awards.

The entertainment specialist won the overall High Street Chain prize, while one of its individual stores – the 360 Oxford Street branch – won Star Store.

Elsewhere, Play.com won Online Retailer, and best Independent Retailer was Grainger Games.

Asda beat out Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons to win the inaugural Supermarket prize.

All of which meant leading games retail specialist GAME missed out in every category it was nominated – the first time the firm has gone home empty-handed from the MCVAwards.
