Minecraft: Pocket Edition hits 10m sales

The iOS/Android version of Minecraft has reached a major milestone, selling 10m units since launching in August 2011.

Mojang shared the significant sales figure for Minecraft: Pocket Edition in an official company post –adding that several feature additions are in the works for the mobile version.

Some of the new content will be made exclusive to players using high-end mobile devices at first. Once these yet to be announced features are sufficiently tested, they will be rolled out for all players in subsequent updates.

Mojang hopes to launch the next big update for the title by the end of the month.

The developer is working on cloud-based multiplayer application, Minecraft Relams, as well. The subscription-based, kid-friendly service will be unlockable in Minecraft: Pocket Edition as an in-app purchase.
