Modern Warfare spin-off on the way?

Considering the unparalleled success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Activision Blizzard would rightly be seen to be quite mad if they weren’t planning to take advantage – so talk of a possible series spin-off, whilst purely speculative, is also highly believable.

Craig Fairbrass, the man who provides the voice for the game’s mysterious masked soldier Ghost, told Inside Xbox (as reported by That VideoGame Blog) at the UK launch event for Modern Warfare 2:

I did in the last game a voice for a character called Gaz and in this game I’m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they’re talking about another little game to go with it so, I’m quite excited about it. It’s grown and grown and grown.”

It’s a fair bet to presume that Modern Warfare 3 will be out in 2011, with 2010 bringing another Call of Duty instalment from World at War developer Treyarch. Could a Ghost spin-off join it in Q4 2010?
