Once a game is added to EA Access’ Vault, it’s there for good

EA will not freely add and remove games made available via EA Access.

The subscription service was revealed last month, and for either 3.99 a month or 19.99 a year offers free access to games contained within ‘The Vault’ as well as a discount on digital DLC and new game purchases.

The Vault will launch with FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, Madden NFL 25 and Peggle 2. And once a game is there, it won’t be removed.

One of the key things is that once a game goes into the Vault it stays there,” EA COO Peter Moore told CVG. It’s not going to be taken out, that’s a commitment we’ve made."

What EA won’t yet commit to though the timescale with which new releases will be added to The Vault. The fact that EA Access membership comes with a 10 per cent discount on new game downloads suggests that the program is certainly not designed to dissuade members from buying new EA titles – they’ll even get access to new games they’ve purchased five days ahead of official release.

"The Vault will get its share of triple-A titles," Moore added. "We haven’t made any announcements to that extent about exactly when, where and how, but the Vault will be substantial.

"New game additions will be determined by franchise and timing. We have to make decisions along that way, so there’s no template, like 30 days after a game ships it goes into the Vault.”

EA Access will not be offered on PS4, with Sony saying that it wasn’t convinced by its value.
