Play.com hires new games boss

Play.com has recruited Patrick Kelly as its new head of games.

Kelly joins Play with a wealth of industry knowledge, having held a similar position at Zavvi before the chain’s closure earlier this year.

Prior to Zavvi, Kelly had worked within games for Virgin Retail.

These are incredibly exciting times for Play.com in an ever changing marketplace and games is of great strategic importance to the overall success of the business,” said Play.com product director David Rimmer.

We are therefore delighted to have someone of Patrick’s calibre help us shape our offer for the future.”

Kelly replaces Gian Luzio, who left the Play.com for The Hut earlier in the month. His appointment will commence from Monday April 20th.
