Pre-owned specialist gets cash injection

In news that hits home the importance of the second hand video games market, Maryland based pre-owned specialist Game Trading Technologies has secured a substantial $3.9m worth of investment.

Spong spotted a TradingMarkets report that claims the firm will use the cash injection to buy 320k used games and accessories and further expand its business.

The goods will be refurbished and repackaged and subsequently sold to national retailers such as 7-Eleven.

The used-game acquisition was the second-largest in the company’s seven-year history,” company spokesperson Jody Janson stated.

The used video game market remains a lucrative industry, as video games and consoles have proliferated but consumers are looking for bargains in a recession.”
