Sports Interactive takes home winners cup from MCV Games 5s

Members of the games industry gathered yesterday to compete over the much sought after MCV Games 5s football tournament winners cup.

But it was Football Manager company Sports Interactive that lifted the trophy at the end of the day, besting GAME DC – one of two teams from the retailer – 6-1 in a tense final.

The firm made it to the final in last year’s contest but was beaten in the final round by QA firm Testology. They left with the winners cup (pictured) and each received an individual trophy.

Testoloy and GAME Digital both made it as far as the semi-finals.

The tournament also saw not one, but two games between the PlayStation UK and Xbox UK teams.

Teams from GAME, Rockstar, Marmalade, Green Man Gaming, Sports Interactive, PlayStation, Xbox UK, Exertis UK, GameLoft, Turtle Beach and Testology all took part.

The MCV Games 5s took place yesterday (May 21st) at Barnet Power League football grounds in North London.
