UPDATE: Sony’s PS4 preorder page for India is live, mentions 2013 release

UPDATE: Sony has now removed the mention of a 2013 release on it’s official PS4 preorder page. The text now simply reads, ‘Don’t miss out when PS4 launches – check back soon for details on where you can pre-order your system.’

Original Story: PlayStation regional head Robert Fisser may not be willing to confirm a PS4 release date just yet, but the Indian PlayStation.com website has quietly been updated with a PS4 preorder page.

Noticed by IVG, the page does’t yet include any preorder details, but does mention that the console is arriving ‘later in 2013’.

‘Don’t miss out when PS4 launches later in 2013 – check back soon for details on where you can pre-order your system,’ the preorder page reads.

Fisser had told MCV at the recently concluded GAMES 13 expo that while a December release for the PS4 alongside the UAE was not confirmed, Sony is looking to ensure that the gap between releases isn’t too big.

"We understand that we’re behind other markets so we need to keep that window as small as possible," Fisser said.
