US: MW2 smashes GameStop records

US retail giant GameStop has revealed it received more pre-orders for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 than any other game before it.

As the world continues to celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated shooter, GameStop’s executive vice president of merchandising and marketing Tony Bartel points to the chain’s own celebrations.

He said: As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we’ve taken for the game is the highest for any title we’ve ever sold in our 6,200 store network. By all indicators, we anticipate Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be biggest entertainment launch of all time.”
