White Vita boosts Japanese sales

The launch of the Crystal White Vita has nearly doubled the handheld’s weekly sales in Japan.

Enterbrain reports that Vita sales for the week ending July 1st reached 22,638 – a massive improvement over the 12,000-13,000 units shifted the week before, according to VG247.

However, software sales remain slow. There were only two Vita games in the Top 20 for the week: Persona 4: The Golden and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.

Meanwhile, 3DS continues to sell well with 65,000 sales generated in the same week, and five titles in the Top 20 – including the 2m-selling Pokmon Black & White 2.
