Retailers slash £50 off Xbox 360

With the clock ticking on the rapid approach to Christmas retailers are stepping up their efforts to capture as much consumer spend as they can before the festive spend dries up – and Xbox 360 hardware is the latest to get the discount treatment.

Both GAME and HMV are currently offering the entry-level Xbox 360 Arcade SKU for just 109.99 – a massive 50 less than the 159.99 RRP.

The Arcade SKU comes bundled with a console, one wireless joypad and a one-month Gold subscription to Xbox Live. It doesn’t include a hard drive or a memory card as modern Arcade consoles have 256MB of in-built RAM.

A similar deal at rival Argos is currently offering an Xbox 360 Arcade, FIFA 10 and Forza 3 for 139.99. The same retailer is currently selling black DS Lite’s for just 79.99.

Elsewhere on the High Street, GAME has launched a new 4.99 offer on a number of pre-owned titles including Quantum of Solace, PES 2009, Devil May Cry 4, No more Heroes, Mirror’s Edge, Virtua Fighter 5 and Unreal Tournament 3.
