Rockstar announces Max Payne 3

Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club developer Rockstar has announced that it is hard at work on a third title in its Max Payne series, with the game set for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this winter.

Max Payne 3, which is being developed by Bully studio Rockstar Vancounver, once again sees the famed protagonist taking to the streets of New York to avenge the death of his family.

We’re starting a new chapter of Max’s life with this game,” said Rockstar founder Sam Houser.

This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation.”
