Rockstar removes "next-gen" reference from job ad

If there’s one thing Rockstar could do to stir the games community more than mentioning next-gen consoles in a job ad, it’s going back into the ad and removing the reference.

It’s said too much! The truth is out! THE NEXT-GEN HAS BEEN REVEALED!

Or maybe it was just a mistake that Rockstar corrected once it was brought to its attention.

Either way, this is how things panned out. An ad for environmental artists at Rockstar North initially said that candidates will be designing, building and texturing the world, have the technical knowledge to achieve great looking results and the skill to get the most from next-gen consoles".

However, the text has been amended to say that candidates must have "the creative and technical knowledge to achieve the highest quality results within budget".

Of course, the next big title on Rockstar’s work schedule is none other than Grand Theft Auto V. What formats that game will appear on has not yet been confirmed, although the debut trailer looked distinctly current-gen.

And it’s also safe to assume that other projects are on the go, too, not least the elusive Agent and long-awaited rumoured Bully sequel.
