Rockstar warns of Grand Theft Auto V re-release beta scams

Rockstar is warning Grand Theft Auto fans to watch out for scams claiming to offer beta access to the upcoming re-release of GTA V.

The warning comes from a newly added page on Rockstar’s official site. The studio clarifies that the upcoming re-release of the title on PC, PS4 and Xbox One will have no pre-release beta test, and explains that any ads claiming its existence is likely some sort of scam.

"Please note: There is no pre-release ‘beta’ test for Grand Theft Auto 5," the developer states. "If you see ads or solicitations to join a beta program, beware as this is likely some type of online phishing scam."

Grand Theft Auto V is due out November 18th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the Windows PC edition is scheduled for release on January 27th, 2015.
