SGN acquires Fat Rascal and Kiwi

Mobile game firm Social Game Network has purchased indie studios Fat Rascal Games and Kiwi Inc.

The Los Angeles Timesreports the acquisitions were made using an unspecified portion of the $130m the company received in a recent funding round from Korean investment group Netmarble.

SGN has opened offices local to both indie studios to ease transition – 15 staff members from Seattle-based Fat Rascal Games have moved over to the new Seattle studio, while 25 employees at Kiwi will remain at their Palo Alto office under the new SGN banner.

Between Argentina and US operations, the company now staffs around 290 individuals.
