Shaun White Snowboarding heading to consoles

Whilst the industry is expecting a flurry of announcements to emerge from the Ubidays conference scheduled for 7pm tonight,

IGN

has confirmed ahead of time that Ubisoft will announce Shaun White Snowboarding for PS3, 360 and PC.

Similar in style to the under-rated Xbox 360 outing Amped 3 from the now tragically defunct studio Indie Built, SWS is set in a persistent online world where gamers are free to play either on their own or with up to 32 players online.

Built with the Assassin’s Creed game engine, the game will take a physics-heavy realistic approach to the sport, in contrast to the likes of EA’s SSX series – which itself is rumoured to be making a return to consoles some time in the near future.

There’s no word yet on a release date – though that could yet be revealed in tonight’s media briefing.
