Shigeru Miyamoto to make film debut with 3D Pikmin short

Having been one of gaming’s leading lights for decades, Nintendo’s design boss Shigeru Miyamoto is preparing to make his film debut.

Kotaku reports that Miyamoto has made an animated Pikmin film called ‘Pikmin Short Movie’. It’s based on content and themes that he wasn’t able to fit into the last game.

The film, which has been made in 3D, has been broken into three episodes – Midnight Juice, The Treasure Inside the Bottle and One Tough Day.

Pikmin Short Movie will make its debut at the Tokyo International Film Festival in October.
