Silent Hill: Downpour revealed

Konami’s upcoming Silent Hill game has been renamed Downpour.

The new title was revealed by Game Informer, promoting a more detailed reveal that will be published in its next issue. The game was formerly known as Silent Hill 8.

Water is expected to be integral to Downpour’s gameplay and will no doubt form both the problems and solutions in many of the game’s puzzles.

A teaser on Game Informer’s site reads: It’s falling from the sky! It’s running from the ceiling! It’s in puddles on the ground! If you’re hydrophobic, you’re probably already drying your pants in terror.”

The publication also hinted that fans will discover new areas of Silent Hill that have not been seen in Konami’s survival horror series before.

Silent Hill: Downpour is due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360. No release date has been given.
