Sky backs PSP video download service

The future is looking bright for PSP, what with the

redesigned model

and now talk of a

PS2 controller adapter

on the way – and now Sony’s upcoming video download service for the handheld has received a massive boost with the news that Sky will be playing a major part.

Sony and Sky have formed a Joint Venture company to deliver on-demand video and film downloads to PSP in the UK and Ireland, with the aim of making the machine the leading video download platform in the market.

Discussions have already begun with the huge number of content providers who already have strong working relationships with Sky.

More information is promised for the Leipzig Games Convention, which kicks off on August 22nd.
