Skyrim crowned this generation’s greatest game in Amazon poll

Amazon.co.uk has named the winner of it’s The Generation’s Greatest Game competition – and it’s Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The epic RPG had to fend off Sony’s latecomer The Last of Us in the semi-final, despite the PS3 title only being released two weeks into the competition’s initial voting phase.

The other two semi-finalists were Sony’s Uncharted 2 and Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption while the quarters were fleshed out by Bethesda’s Fallout 3, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV, 2K Games’ BioShock and Valve’s Portal 2.

The other eight games who made the final 16 were Super Mario Galaxy, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Mass Effect 2, Batman: Arkham City, Far Cry 3, BioShock Infinite, The Walking Dead and Metal Gear Solid 4.
