Sony bolsters PSP with free Media Manager

Whilst there’s no denying the PSP’s excellent multimedia functionality, up to now consumers have faced the choice of either paying for Sony’s Media Manager software or wrestling with any number of third party applications – but Sony Japan has just removed a lot of the hassle.

Though visitors to either the UK or American PSP sites will still have to pay download Sony’s PSP Media Manager, those brave enough to take on the Kanji-heavy PSP site can now download the application for free – and once installed it works in English, according to Kotaku.

It is not known whether the move will be mirrored by SCEE of SCEA, but it still gives Western PSP owners the chance to make the most of the music and movie capabilities of their machine for free.
